Israel as God's son (Hosea 11)

The day that God sobbed was the day He prophesied through Hosea the final destruction of Israel in Hosea 11. He transparently reveals His heart, fire and indignation over Israel's 700 years of running from Him, and yet His unwillingness to give up on His son, Israel. Mercy and love triumphed over judgment at the cross. Romans 6:23 gives us this clarity in one sentence. What a treasure Hosea 11.
